Dom Smith featured by Keene State College and interviewed by the BBC

Dom Smith has been featured on the website of his old college in America (Keene State College [click the link for more…], New Hampshire) for his work with us on a Soundsphere magazine app. It was really nice of them to feature our news!

Also, Dom was lucky enough to feature on BBC Radio York’s Getting To Know You section with Russ Walker recently – the interview focuses on Dom’s life, his challenges and how he went on to form Disabled Entrepreneurs and Soundsphere magazine.

You can check out the informative interview below via Dom’s Soundcloud!

Mike Leigh Cooper appears in Contact Theatre’s latest guide and completes Our North Manchester video

That’s right our own Mike Leigh Cooper has appeared in a very special (new) guide to the mighty Contact Theatre‘s services and listings. Pictured below you can see Mike’s beaming face, as well as the text which has a quote about how awesome working at the Contact actually is.

Mike, of course is a Creative Expert at the Manchester-based theatre company and while he’s there, he participates in (and leads) film and multimedia workshops for young people. He’s so cool.

For an example of Mike’s great work in that area, check out this video he developed promoting North Manchester that’s just been released!

Jonathan Sillence heads up photoshoot for People In Action-funded band

Recently our Creative Director Jonathan Sillence trekked to Leeds where he completed a photoshoot for all-disabled heavy metal act, Ultimate Thunder. The band were in fine form throughout and very enthusiastic! The opportunity came about through Jonathan’s work for Soundsphere magazine and Disabled Entrepreneurs.

Their music is influenced by everything from Judas Priest to Machine Head – it’s loud and very heavy! Always good things for us. shown above is a rough picture taken by People In Action (the charity funding and supporting Ultimate Thunder), and below are some videos of the band having a jam!
