Our creative inspiration, and best buddy (also one of CC’s co-founders), Jay Sillence has recently had one of his most excellent animations shown on the big screen, at York’s prestigious Culture Awards. Check it out below:
Of the animation, Jay comments:Â ‘I was approached by Make It York to create a Kinetic Typography animation to inform and promote the York Culture Awards which celebrates the creative successes of all diversities and cultures in York. The animation, although simple to watch required a lot of man hours to get up to scratch. Animation is all about timing and with text this is even more important, so after I’d planned out the text and got the motions and timings right (not too quick to read, not too boring) I created a few small character based animations to keep it fun and visually interesting. I’ve received some great feedback from this video after it was shown at the Culture Awards Launch in the luxurious Hotel DuVin and I’m looking forward to doing another one in a similar style. Despite the long hours, it’s been a joy to work on.’
