Listen to the explosive new NEWMEDS single, ‘Nobody’s Fool’ now

Hull alternative rockers NEWMEDS return with new single, ‘Nobody’s Fool’, out on September 27 via Man Demolish Records.

With their hometown of Hull recently crowned UK City of Culture, and the local arts scene significantly benefiting from the economic boost and international spotlight afforded to it, NEWMEDS are a fine example of the homegrown talent that’s chomping at the bit to break out of the north of England.

Comprised of veteran members of long-established and respected names from the heavy music scene including Winterfylleth, Drowners, The Colour Line and Outspoken Silence, the newly minted four piece are wasting no time planting their flag with their abrasive, high-energy punk’n’roll evoking the likes of The Bronx, Cancer Bats, Gallows and Comeback Kid.

The quartet have a genre-bending no-limits philosophy to their music, where any sound or style goes as far as the writing process is concerned. Elements of black metal, pop punk, emo and even psychedelia edge into their finely crafted and slickly produced brand of punk rock.

Unflinching lyrics, nourished by colours which dance in the spaces between the hooks and highs. Innovative & Intelligent neo-indie-pop with brutal, heart breaking honesty.

This is Waste Of Paint…

“I had to let go and ‘break down’ in front of the camera…I had to bare my soul, I had to cry. And I did…a lot. It was the only way i could do justice to the words that had poured out of me when writing the song. I had to tell my truth.”

The track is out today via The New Anonymous record label.

Crank wave band Mary and the Ram ready new single, ‘Eclipse’

Dom Sith unveils ambient new track, ‘MONO’

In need of something ambient to begin the day? Well, you’ve come to the right place with this post of Dom Sith, aka Dom Smith’s, latest track ‘Mono’. You may know Sith as the drummer for Mary and the Ram and The Parasitic Twins, but in his spare time he has continued to experiment with electronic beats and sounds, and ‘Mono’ (which you can purchase now right here) is his latest creation. The song is a dark, lo-fi offering that recalls the very best of 1990s trip-hop, which may remind you of genre-defining artists such as Portishead and Tricky. With the pending May 24th release of ‘Mono’ out through the recently resurrected Yorkshire alternative electronic music label The New Anonymous, Sith is looking to inspire others with his latest collection of beats and samples. Commented Sith, “I just want to make electronic music, man. I forever wanted to be like Trent Reznor, or Chris Corner (IAMX), so I got some software and just started tinkering a few years back, just trying to make really unsettling sounds. I’ve done a few releases now, and they’re pretty lo-fi and dark, but if I can make music that I genuinely love, then I want others to know that they can too.”
